The First Cohomology Group H(g,m)
This paper characterizes the first cohomology group H(G,M) where M is a Banach space (with norm || ||M) that is also a left CG module such that the elements of G act onM as continuous C-linear transformations. We study this group for G an infinite, finitely generated group. Of particular interest are the implications of the vanishing of the group H(G,M). The first result is that H(G,CG) imbeds ...
متن کاملThe fundamental group and the first cohomology group
By a finite group cover of G, we will mean an M -definable connected group H with a surjective M -definable map H → G, whose kernel K is finite. The kernel K must lie within the center of H, because the action of H on K by conjugation yields a necessarily-trivial homomorphism from the connected group H to the finite group of automorphisms of K. If πi : Hi → G are finite group covers of G for i ...
متن کاملFinite Generation of the Cohomology of Some Skew Group Algebras
We prove that some skew group algebras have Noetherian cohomology rings, a property inherited from their component parts. The proof is an adaptation of Evens’ proof of finite generation of group cohomology. We apply the result to a series of examples of finite dimensional Hopf algebras in positive characteristic.
متن کاملThe First Cohomology Group of the Generalized Morava Stabilizer Algebra
There exists a p-local spectrum T (m) with BP∗(T (m))= BP∗[t1, . . . , tm]. Its Adams-Novikov E2-term is isomorphic to ExtΓ(m+1)(BP∗, BP∗), where Γ(m+ 1) = BP∗(BP )/ (t1, . . . , tm) = BP∗[tm+1, tm+2, . . . ]. In this paper we determine the groups ExtΓ(m+1)(BP∗, v −1 n BP∗/In) for all m,n > 0. Its rank ranges from n + 1 to n2 depending on the value of m.
متن کاملModule cohomology group of inverse semigroup algebras
Let $S$ be an inverse semigroup and let $E$ be its subsemigroup of idempotents. In this paper we define the $n$-th module cohomology group of Banach algebras and show that the first module cohomology group $HH^1_{ell^1(E)}(ell^1(S),ell^1(S)^{(n)})$ is zero, for every odd $ninmathbb{N}$. Next, for a Clifford semigroup $S$ we show that $HH^2_{ell^1(E)}(ell^1(S),ell^1(S)^{(n)})$ is a Banach sp...
